BUAV CEO Michelle Thew and Director of Policy Dr Nick Palmer, are today attending a meeting with the Home Office Minister, Mr Norman Baker. They will raise a number of issues and BUAV concerns, including the recent Government statement on reduction, household product testing and the BUAV investigation into the use of puppies and kittens at MSD Animal Health. A report detailing the findings and concerns raised by the BUAV investigation was delivered to the Home Office this week.
Earlier this week, Michelle Thew and BUAV Scientific Consultant, Dr Jarrod Bailey attended the All Party Parliamentary Group for the Replacement of Animals in Medical Experimentation. Dr Jarrod Bailey, together with FRAME Life President, Professor Michael Balls, gave presentations about the use of dogs in pre-clinical testing. The presentations were based on the recent scientific report, published by the BUAV and FRAME that refutes the scientific validity of using dogs in research.
