The BUAV team are in Poland this week to attend the bi-annual meeting of the BUAV-led European Coalition to End Animal Experiments (ECEAE). The ECEAE is the leading alliance in Europe campaigning on behalf of animals used in laboratories. At this meeting in Warsaw we are pleased to have animal advocates representing organisations from 23 countries across Europe!
This meeting comes at a crucial time for animals in laboratories, as key issues are being discussed at both EU and Member State levels. These issues include the cosmetics marketing ban and the transposition of the EU animal testing directive into the national legislation of each Member State.
The ECEAE meeting has received great media coverage in Poland and this morning a well attended press conference took place at which, the BUAV’s Dr Nick Palmer and Cezary Wyszynski from Viva! (Poland) were joined by Polish actress and celebrity Agata Buzek, daughter of the President of the European Parliament.
